XXII REELS FAQ
Answers to common questions about XXII REELS, professional demo reel footage for actors, cinematic custom scenes, pricing, and the production process.
XXII REELS, the actor-focused production service from XXII Pictures, creates cinematic custom demo reel scenes and short films for actors. Each project is built around the actor’s casting type and designed to look and feel like narrative film or television rather than generic reel footage or a studio backdrop.
Actors can build professional reel footage through booked film and television work, independent productions, student films, or professionally produced custom scenes. XXII REELS creates cinematic custom scenes and short films specifically for actors who need professional footage that fits their casting range.
Actors without substantial television or feature-film credits can use independent films, short films, student productions, or professionally produced custom reel scenes to build footage. The priority should be material that looks professional and clearly demonstrates the actor’s casting range.
Custom scenes can be useful when an actor does not have enough professional footage or when their existing reel does not reflect the roles they are currently pursuing. The strongest custom scenes function like real narrative scenes rather than generic showcases.
A professional acting reel should prioritize strong performances, clear dialogue, cinematic framing, professional sound and lighting, believable scene partners, and material appropriate to the actor’s casting type. Quality matters more than accumulating a large number of clips.
There is no single required length for an acting demo reel, but the strongest material should appear quickly and the reel should only be as long as the footage remains compelling. For many actors, approximately 60 to 90 seconds of strong footage is more useful than a longer reel filled with weaker clips. Quality and casting clarity matter more than total runtime.
XXII REELS offers professional acting reel production at several price points. A Cinematic Highlight Scene is $225, a Cinematic Reel Scene starts at $395, and Cinematic Short Films start at $2,500. Reel Scenes and Short Films include a 1-on-1 Reel Strategy Call; Highlight Scenes include a 20-minute planning call.
