Currently in production on Desert Sleep, a psychological short film shooting in the Southern California desert and targeting Sundance and the top-tier festival circuit. Chris Grant Wenchell is a SAG actor, producer, and creative entrepreneur with a deep background in character-driven performance and a strong entrepreneurial streak. Chris launched XXII Pictures to take control of the narrative — creating space for ambitious stories, unique voices, and underrepresented perspectives.
His producing debut, The Ordeal, received a Best Action Film nomination at Beyond Hollywood International Film Festival 2026. His original short film Desert Sleep — which he wrote, produced, and stars in — is currently in production, targeting Sundance and the top-tier festival circuit.
As an actor, Chris saw how many talented performers were stuck with reels that didn't reflect their true range. XXII Pictures launched XXII Reels to fix that — building footage that feels like real television and film, directed by someone who actually understands performance from the inside out.
